CC Nurseries’ Festive Donations bring Christmas Joy
CC Nurseries Group settings across southern England and Scotland came together last month to collect food donations and create festive hampers to give to those most in need.
Throughout November, the group’s Nursery settings along with the central support office, each set up a ‘donation station’ in which parents could drop off dried and tinned goods, as well as festive items, to ensure other families in their local areas were supported at Christmas.
CC Nurseries Group also ‘topped-up’ the donations at each Nursery, totally £450, which they could then use to buy additional festive items or vital supplies that the food banks were in need of, from feminine hygiene products to nappies.
COO/Head of Nurseries Andrew Clifford said: “It is extremely important to us engage with our local communities across the year.
“We were overwhelmed by the generosity of our families at what can be a difficult time, particularly after what has been a challenging couple of years.
“At every opportunity our teams and families are willing to get involved and make a difference; November also saw our Nurseries raise over £1100 for BBC Children in Need as an example.
“We’re so thrilled to be able to make these contributions to our local communities and support not just our enrolled families but any family who may need a helping hand.”
Just some of the food banks the Nurseries have partnered with include Hounslow Food Box, the Trussell Trust for Rutherglen and Cumbuslang, Aylesbury Food Bank, Bedford Food Bank and Corstorphine Community Church’s Christmas Support Project.
